My Uncle Tudor by Olga Locovnicova, Don’t Hesitate to Come for a Visit, Mom by Anna Artemyeva, and First Birthday After the Apocalypse by Farah Hasanbegović were selected to competitive sections of the 17th ZagrebDox – International Documentary Film Festival held between 13 and 20 of June.
Aylin Gökmen´s graduation film SPIRITS AND ROCKS: AN AZOREAN MYTH, which premiered in Locarno in August of last year, won the President’s Award at the 24th Full Frame Documentary Film Festival (North Carolina, USA). Sponsored by the Duke University, the prize recognizes up-and-coming filmmakers and is awarded to the best student film.
The film also won the Prize Mathieu-Hoche for Best Documentary at Aubagne International Film Festival (France).
Olga Lucovnicova’s graduation film MY UNCLE TUDOR won the Deframed Prize at the 37th Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg held between 1 and 6 June in Germany.
The Deframed Prize is awarded by the international jury to a film which deals with reality in a poetic, formal, analytic and unconventional way while ignoring all rules in a pioneering spirit.
