Academic Board

The Academic Board is the official board of DocNomads Joint Masters, which is composed of the three Course Directors, the Consortium Coordinator and three other faculty scholars appointed by the partner institutions.

The board oversees all matters concerning the procedures of application, selection and admission; the academic curriculum and its implementation; the pedagogical assessment of students’ progress; the financial management, monitoring, quality control, evaluation and dissemination of the Course.

External supervisors invited by the Academic Board may take part in the evaluation of the Masters activities, of the students’ works and/or of the admission process.

Attila Kékesi

Attila Kékesi is the DocNomads course director at SZFE Budapest. He holds a position as DLA associate professor at the university, and has been a documentary film director, producer, cinematographer and editor since 1994.

Victor Candeias is the DocNomads course director at ULHT Lisbon. He holds a Master in Film Studies, and since 2001 he is a faculty instructor on documentary and fiction subjects in the film BA and MA degree courses.

Rob Rombout is a founding member of DocNomads program, and was the course director at LUCA Brussels from 2012 to 2018. He is an independent documentary filmmaker, and also an experienced teacher and lecturer.

Tamás Almási is a founding member of DocNomads program, and was the course director at SZFE Budapest from 2012 to 2018. He holds a DLA, and has many years of experience as a professor (dr. habil). As a filmmaker he has been directing documentaries and feature films.

Roel Vande Winkel was the DocNomads course director at LUCA Brussels from 2018 to 2022. He is a film scholar and researcher, teaching at Sint Lukas Brussels (LUCA School of Arts) and at the University of Leuven.
