DocNomads film awarded in Colorado, USA
The film Ode to Happiness directed by Jake Bellew and Anastasia Koutsonanou won the Mimesis Emerging Artist Award in the Mimesis Documentary Film Festival held between 14 and 18 August.
Statement of the 2024 Mimesis Shorts Jury: “"It was pure pleasure to free the head from language for these vignettes and enjoy the smallest gestures, with cinematography that respects and frames them beautifully: incredible use of reflected light that mirrors the inward reflections of the lead. What a privilege to be able to view a film that observes its character with such tenderness and sensitivity. Ode to Happiness builds a cohesive, beautifully constructed little world of its own.”
