The second DocNomads Academy Seminar and the fifth DocNomads Alumni Event were held in the 9, 10 and 11 of February at the conference hall of Premier Kultcafé in Budapest.
Water and Salt by Luisa Mello (Brazil), and The Memory Atlas by Domenico Centrone (Italy) will be screened at International Film Festival Rotterdam, held from 22 January to 2 February in The Netherlands. The feature documentary A Rifle and a Bag, a collaborative project directed by three alumni of DocNomads within their production company NoCut Film Collective will have its World Premiere in the “Bright Future” competition of Rotterdam IFF.
Alexander Sussmann, a DocNomads student from Germany, won the “Sophia” award for best documentary in the student category with “Jamaika Onto New Paths”, a film he directed during the 1st semester of DocNomads Masters. The “Sophias” are awarded yearly by the Portuguese Film Academy as a prestigious distinction to films made in Portugal.
The 5th International Student Documentary Film Festival FIDÉ | Brazil presented a special screening of films by DocNomads students.
DOC NOMADS Erasmus Mundus Masters Course is aimed to students from all over the world with a BA degree in Film Studies, in Arts or in Media Communication studies.
The DOC NOMADS EMMC has three full partners and enjoys the backing of 19 European and non-European associated members.
