DocNomads films selected to DocLisboa 2024, Portugal
Blue by Ana Vîjdea is presented in the Portuguese Competition, whereas in the Green Year’s competitive section will premiere Business as Usual by Pedro Vinicius. O Fumo do Fogo by Daryna Mamaisur will be presented in the Doc Alliance program.
Also, Dad’s Lullaby by Lesia Diak, and Estou Aqui by Zsófia Paczolay & Dorian Rivière, alumni from DocNomads, will present their recent feature-length documentaries in the 22nd edition of DocLisboa held from 17 to 27 October.

A Ukrainian filmmaker’s footage of her Portuguese lessons, and archival images of Kyiv, seek a language to articulate the here of exile and the elsewhere of war. As battered stock cars anticipate their own demolition, a director recounts the devastating impact of an abusive relationship. The Russian invasion forces Alina to join her parents in their village, where she crafts a portrait of their daily domestic lives, amidst the noise of the bombs.
