The documentary short IT IS WHAT IT IS, directed by Jasmijn Kooijman, will have its World Premiere in the Short Joy section of the 49th Göteborg Film Festival which is held in Sweden from 23 January to 1 February.

In a mountainous landscape in northern Portugal lies the small village of Aboadela. Here we meet a group of young men who pass the time playing cards at the village’s only café, talking about a future that seems to lie elsewhere. An atmospheric and soulful reflection on ambivalence in the face of what lies ahead.
