DocNomads film awarded in Tirana, Albania
Angeline Teh’s Reading You received the Best Student Documentary Award at the 22nd Tirana International Film Festival held from 22 to 28 September in Albania.
The film premiered in 2023 at the Southeast Asian Short Film Competition of the 34th Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF).
Jury statement: “A delicate and profound exploration of grief and trauma. The film is a journey of reconciliation with the filmmakers own past through the painful memories of her own mother. Beautifully crafted, this film deeply moved us..”

Synopsis:
An immersion into memories where absence of a person takes hold. Through the diaries left behind by the filmmaker's mother 20 years ago, Reading You is an attempt to reconcile with the decisions made in the past.
