Three DocNomads films in BIDF, Hungary
I Kiss Your Hand, Madame by Jeremy Luke Bolatag, Are you here? by Zlata Veresniak, Ode To Happiness by Jake Bellew & Anastasia Koutsonanou will be presented in the Short Film Competition of the Budapest International Documentary Film Festival held between 27 January and 4 February.

Synopsis:
After living a heteronormative life for 50 years, Mónika finally goes through with her orchiectomy. The filmmaker follows Mónika’s first steps in her gender-affirmation journey: her new relationship with her body and with her biological 11-year-old son, as she also navigates the repressive Orbán regime in Hungary.

Synopsis:
Oryna, an 18-year-old Ukrainian girl, fled her homeland during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, while all her family, including her 7-year-old sister Ksiusha, decided to remain there. The film observes the daily remote communication between Oryna and her sister, and reveals their close bonds of sisterhood, which remain strong despite their separation and the constant presence of the war.
