Aylin Gökmen´s graduation film SPIRITS AND ROCKS: AN AZOREAN MYTH had its Australian premiere in the Shorts Competition section of the Melbourne International Film Festival.
Recently, the film was presented in the 20th Dokufest, Kosovo and at the 39th Rhode Island Int. Film Festival, USA.

A meditative guide through the Azores archipelago’s history and its inhabitants’ connection to the volatile land.
Part retelling of creation legend, part mysterious record of modern-day life, Spirts and Rocks: An Azorean Myth chronicles – in breathtaking, broody black-and-white – the fragility and strength of the islands’ community, and their reverence, fear and awe at nature’s prowess.
