DocNomads film wins the Pardino d’Oro in LOCARNO

The documentary “António and Catarina” directed by Christina Hanes, a DocNomads student from Romania, won the Pardino d’Oro, the top award for the Best International Short Film in the competitive section Pardi di domani of the 70th Locarno International Film Festival, held from 2 to 12 August in Switzerland.

Synopsis:

Over the course of three years, filmmaker Cristina Haneș comes and goes from Augusto’s – a 70-year-old man – life.

Assuming new identities, António and Catarina, they talk about youth, death, love and desire, trapped in a small room in Augusto’s apartment.
