Eleven DocNomads films selected to DocLisboa 2016
The International Film Festival DocLisboa selected 11 films of DocNomads students to screen in its Portuguese Competition and Green Years section during the October 2016 edition of the festival.
“Ida Gil”, by Ida Sørensen, is presented in the Portuguese films competition, whereas in the Green Years competitive section will be screened “Pulse” by Robin Petré, “Apnoe” by Nicola Sangs, “Ceramic Tales” by Martina Droandi, “two little words” by Pien van Grinsven, “Hello Sea!” by Maria Grazia Goya, “Chicken Fox” by Nuruzzaman Khan, “Two Monologues” by Marianna Vas, “Garage Inventory” by Alyx Ayn Arumpac, “Distance” by Dorottya Zurbó and “Conversion: The Guide of the Skin Allergy Treatment” by Afsaneh Salari.
IDA GIL

Synopsis:
Ida Gil is a poetic essay about saying goodbye. Oscillating between close-ups of skin and the blue horizon, it explores the relationship between a female filmmaker and a young protagonist who are both longing to say goodbye to someone or something.

As a child, the filmmaker got scarred when he had chickenpox. To deal with this traumatic event, he created a humorous film about the way people used to call it “chicken fox” instead of “chickenpox”.
