DocNomads graduation film won award in Vila do Conde Festival
The documentary “Bétail” directed by Joana Neves de Sousa won the Take One Award, given to schools and young directors, in the 23rd Vila do Conde film festival. Curtas Vila do Conde is one of the most renowned short-film festivals in Portugal.

Synopsis: Bétail is an experimental documentary about the intertwining of bodies and lives in a cattle ranch. During its three chapters, each of them focusing on a different physical element, a birth unfolds while the daily routine takes place. The film was shot in Les Avins, in the Belgian countryside, with cattle of the breed Blanc Bleu Belge. This breed if known for their fascinating musculature and well-built bodies.
