João Pedro Plácido is a cinematographer / DoP and a filmmaker.
Professionally active since 2001, he has 20 years of experience filming documentaries, drama, commercials, promos and music videos around the globe.
Skilled in studio and location shoots, often collaborating in many languages and cultures, with both large and small crews.
His work has been awarded with national and international prizes, such as “Volta à Terra / (Be)Longing” a feature documentary he directed which won 6 awards (Gold Hugo for Best Documentary in Chicago International Film Festival 2015, Ulysses Award and Youth Award for Best First Feature in Montpellier Mediterranean Film Festival 2015, Silver Gentian for outstanding artistic contribution in Trento Film Festival 2015, Liscont Award and IADE Award for Best Portuguese Competition Feature-length Film in Doclisboa International Film Festival 2014).
