Melody London is a renowned Film Editor of internationally awarded fiction and non-fiction feature films.
She has also directed projects including “Mary Gibson Henry," a feature documentary about the renowned botanist, “Lost,” financed by the American Film Institute, The Hitchhiking Game, an adaptation of a short story by Milan Kundera, and “In Dreams Begin Responsibilities”, an adaptation of a short story by Delmore Schwartz.
Her most recent Editor credits include “Light Darkness Light”, The Disappearance of My Mother (Consultant Editor), Laurie Anderson’s “Heart of a Dog,” short-listed for an Academy Award; and Laura Poitras’ “Risk,” which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, 2016.
The first film Melody edited, “Stranger Than Paradise” won many international awards. Other outstanding achievements include the Gotham Award for “Angela” by Rebecca Miller and Waldo Salt Award for “Joe the King” by Frank Whaley. She has edited over 17 feature films.
Melody is on the Board of Directors of the Eurica Media Lab, to create global communication for underprivileged youth. She has conducted Master Classes in Moscow, Helsinki, Lisbon, and Talinn over the last two years. She received a two-month Artist residency at the famed Yaddo. Melody has an MFA from New York University. She has taught full-time at both NYU and CalArts. She teaches ongoing classes at The New School and Hunter College in New York City.
