José Filipe Costa is a filmmaker and lecturer. He holds a PhD degree from the Royal College of Art, London.
His filmography include Linha Vermelha (Red Line, 2011), Entre Muros (In Between Walls, 2002), which he co-directed and the short fiction films Domingo (Sunday, 2005) and A Rua (Outside, 2008).
He has been a lecturer at several academic institutions and visiting professor at Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro in 2013-2014.
He is the author of the book O cinema ao Poder! (Power to the cinema!) ed. Hugin, Lisbon, 2002.
