Christina Stuhlberger (b. 1982, Passau) is a documentary filmmaker based in Brussels whose work revolves around portraits of people and places. Her interest lies in how personal stories depict a socio-political context and history. In her films, she pursues encounters and possibilities of community through a small-scale approach to filmmaking.

She obtained a BA and MA in Audiovisual Arts at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK), Ghent, Belgium. Prior to her education in the arts she obtained a MSc in Environmental Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan, Germany and worked as environmental specialist for the United Nations in Geneva and various national environment agencies.

Since 2020, Christina Stuhlberger is a doctoral student at KU Leuven where she holds a position as research assistant in the Intermedia research unit at LUCA School of Arts.

In 2021, she became a member of the Young Academy of the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium for Science and the Arts.

Christina is a founding member of elephy.org, a production company and distribution platform for film and media art in Brussels. She is associated artist at Beursschouwburg (2017-2021) where she conceived various programs including the Tumbleweed screening series centred on upcoming filmmakers working in documentary.

Her films have been presented in various festivals and exhibitions including IDFA, Visions du Reel, LUFF, CINEMATEK, Greylight Projects, Beursschouwburg, Filmer à tout prix, Poppositions. She has won various prizes including the VAF Wildcard in the Filmlab category in 2014 and the Cedric Willemen Prize in 2017.
