Rogier Van Eck (b. Paris, 1952. Dutch, Belgian) studied Political Science at the University of Lausanne and at the INSAS in Brussels.
He has lived and worked in Brussels since 1975. Film director and lecturer at INSAS.
He has taught in Cuba, Morocco, Mozambique, Norway, Switzerland, Thailand, Vietnam and Zimbabwe.
An editor from 1978 to 1999, he made commissioned documentaries (architecture, society, Thema, etc.) and institutional films for the European Commission.
He has collaborated in the conception, writing and production of numerous projects for Wajnbrosse Productions, including for ARTE-France the "Kaleidoscope" collection (33 episodes of 26 min. 2001-2006) and "Oscar Niemeyer, an architect committed to the century" (60 min. ARTE 2000).
He co-directed "Amsterdam via Amsterdam" (80 min. RTBF 1998-2004) & "Amsterdam Stories USA" (360 min. RTBF 2013-2015) with Rob Rombout.
He is currently preparing a new documentary: “Amsterdam Black & White” (2023 / 90 min.)
