Karen Everett is a filmmaker and has been also a documentary Instructor at UC Berkeley, Graduate School of Journalism (1994 – 2012). 

She is well known for the documentary I Shall Not Be Removed: The Life of Marlon Riggs (1996) PBS Broadcast, winner National Educational Association Silver Apple.
