John Burgan is MA Documentary & Factual course leader at MetFilm School Berlin and also on the faculty of the ZeLIG School for Documentary, TV & New Media in Bolzano, Italy.

After training at the BBC and the UK’s National Film & TV School, he is based in the German capital where he works as a director, writer and editor, mainly in the documentary field.

His first feature-length film Memory of Berlin, originally broadcast on ZDF/Arte, was screened at many international film festivals and selected for the Chris Marker retrospective in Paris.

He has a broad range of credits, from political documentaries to music clips and commissioned films, reality and corporate projects.

He is a mentor for the Nipkow Programme, Berlin and a script consultant for the IDM Film Fund in South Tirol.

He is an active member of the CILECT international network of film schools and teaches filmmaking at various institutions across Europe.
