DocNomads films selected to DocLisboa 2019
The International Film Festival DocLisboa selected films of DocNomads students to screen in its Portuguese Competition and Green Years section during the 17th edition of the festival from 17th to 27th October 2019.
“Lost Three Make One Found” by Atsushi Kuwayama is presented in the Portuguese Competition, whereas in the Green Years competitive section will be screened “Labyrinth”, by Oktay Namazov.
The short documentary “Outside the Oranges Are Blooming”, by Nevena Desivojeviç, an alumna of DocNomads, is a developed version of her graduation film, which will have its world premiere in DocLisboa.

Synopsis:
A broken-hearted Japanese man and his Indian friend go on a pilgrimage in an old camper van in search for a sacred spring in southern Portugal. They experience a variety of encounters travelling through one of the most depopulated and suicidal regions in Europe toward the legendary destination. The film offers a glimpse into a way of living in Portugal, and by capturing the tragicomedy of meeting and parting it becomes a hopeful call for otherness and empathy.

Synopsis:
After spending three years in jail as a political prisoner in Azerbaijan, Rashadat is trying to rebuild his life away in Budapest. Through the contrast between his daily life and the memories from the prison life, the film talks about life in exile.

Synopsis:
High among the mountains, a man endures alone in a disappearing village. Wandering through the misty nature, roaming between the walls of his dark house, he bewails his condition as a man doomed to serve the surrounding he has rejected.
