Francisco Gózon Gabbay is a Venezuelan-Hungarian filmmaker, with a strong social commitment and extensive experience in social and human rights issues, especially dealing with the rights of ethnic minorities.

Promoter of film club movement in Venezuela has studied in the "Simon Bolivar University", Caracas, in the Cegra (Graphical Studies Center) and "SZFE" (University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest).

As cinematographer has worked in more than 20 feature, documentary and non-fiction films including international co-productions (Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Poland, Peru, Uruguay, Cuba) and has directed 3 fiction short films and 2 documentaries. His works have been awarded with several prizes at international film festivals.

For two consecutive years, 1995 and 1996, received the prize of "Best Director of Photography" at the yearly event "Hungarian Film Week"- Budapest and in March 1997 received from the Hungarian State the "Balázs Béla" award for his contribution in Hungarian cinematography.

He has been member of the board of both the "Balázs Béla Studio" in Budapest, (alternative film studio for young filmmakers) and VTV (Venezuelana de Television) Venezuelan state official channel.

In Venezuela he has co-founded PANAFILMS, socially committed production company from which develops audio-visual and educational work in Venezuela and Latin America.

He has vast experience teaching DOP-s at SZFE (University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest), CISA (Locarno Film School, Switzerland), METU (Budapest Metropolitan University) and SAPIENTIA (Hungarian University of Transylvania).
