Daniel Deshays is a sound engineer and sound director. 

Since 1974 Daniel Deshays has conceived, produced and directed sound for film, theatre, TV, dance, art exhibitions, studio recordings, and site-specific installations.

He teaches in the Master of Advanced Studies in Theatre and Film (DEA), and is the head of the Sound Department at ENSATT (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Techniques du Théâtre) in Lyon, France, and is a Research Fellow at CNRS-ARIAS (Atelier de Recherche sur l’Intermédialité et les Arts du Spectacle, UMR 7172).

Besides a bachelor diploma in Bacteriology (Ecole Nationale de Chimie de Paris, 1970), he holds a degree in Etudes de Théâtre, Musique, Cinéma et Philosophie (Université Paris 8), the MA ‘Musique, implications théâtrales’ (Université Paris 8, 1975), and the Master in Advanced Studies ‘Le théâtre musical de Mauricio Kagel’ (Université Paris 8, 1978).
