Graça Castanheira is a documentary director and editor, a teacher and a graphic designer.
She graduated in 1989 at the Cinema School in Lisbon, where she is currently a teacher in the course subject of Documentary Film Directing.
As a filmmaker, she has been involved in documentary films and documentary series for television such “A Casa e a Cidade”, “O Tempo e o Modo”, “2084”, “Imagine”.
Other of her films include “A Rua da Estrada” (2012), “Angst” (2010), “Maria De Lourdes Pintasilgo” (2010), “A Catedral” (2008), “Fernando Lopes Graça” (2007), “Laura” (2006), “Outubro” (2001), “Dois Mundos” (1999), “Céu Aberto” (1997).
She is part of the group that founded Apordoc – The Portuguese Documentary Association which promotes the international film festival “DocLisboa”.
In 2008, she also started her own company of production and post-production - Pop Filmes.
