Lola Mayo is a screenwriter and producer of documentary and fiction films.

Lola Mayo regularly teaches courses on storytelling in schools and universities in Europe and Latin America. From 2014 to 2017 she coordinated the Documentary Department in the International Film and TV School of San Antonio de los Baños in Cuba, in which she created the Master in Development of Documentary Projects in 2015.

Currently teaching at the Media and Design faculty in Genk, Belgium, he is also a member of the General Assembly of the Flemish Film Fund (VAF) for whom he also acts as an expert reader for documentary projects.

For 10 years she directed feature-length documentary films for Documentos TV, the oldest documentary program in Spain national channel TVE, producing a documentary corpus that earned her the Queen Sofia Journalism Award.

In 2016 she founded the production company Lolita Films together with director Javier Rebollo and producer Damián París, producing 5 fiction feature films, 20 short films and 15 documentaries for television. These films received over one hundred awards in festivals worldwide, including several FIPRESCI Awards, Best Direction Award in San Sebastian International Film Festival, Best Film in Los Angeles AFI Film Festival, one Goya Award and seven nominations.

She is the co-writer of all short and feature films directed by independent Spanish director Javier Rebollo: El muerto y ser feliz (2012), La mujer sin piano (2009), Lo que sé de Lola (2006).
