Alex Shiriaieff has a background as TV journalist, documentary director and producer.

In 2014 he became one of the founders of Baltic to Black Sea Documentary Network (B2B Doc). This non-profit organisation, based in Sweden, provides creative tutoring to documentary projects from Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.

B2B Doc helps filmmakers in developing their film stories for the international co-production and distribution market, all the way from the idea to the rough-cut. B2B Doc arranges practical training in story development, trailer production and pitching, helps write treatments and funding applications and provides travel grants for filmmakers to attend the leading pitching forums and coproduction markets in Europe.

B2B Doc has become the effective professional training platform for documentary film projects from the Eastern Partnership countries. All the recent major documentary films from the region that became successful and got awards at Idfa, Berlinale, Sundance, Vision du reel, etc - have been continuously supported by B2B Doc.
