International Festivals and Professional Programs

Course supervisor: Gábor Zsigmond Papp

Within the framework of this activities-based course unit, students will attend some of the international film festivals, special screenings, professional conferences and training sessions related to documentary film production that are held in Hungary during the semester: Titanic, Mediawave, DunaDock Pitching Forum, European Documentary Network Training, BIDF Special Screenings.

Besides watching newly-made film works in the festival, students participate in professional training sessions where they can learn more about how to prepare and analyse a presentation of a current project for a pitching forum, or how to engage in international co-productions.

Students will participate in master classes with internationally acknowledged filmmakers and producers who will present their recent works and explain the different stages of realisation of their productions. They will have also the opportunity to build relationships with industry professionals and experts.
