UC Events and Visits

Activities and Screenings in IDFA Amsterdam (Netherlands)

Course supervisor: Rob Rombout

Within the framework of this activities-based course unit, students visit the renowned International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) held since 1988 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

At IDFA, students are introduced to one of the world's leading documentary film festivals. They engage with other international students (during a workshop with the Amsterdam Film Academy) and get the opportunity to see fresh, outstanding works, as well as build contacts with festival participants and organisers.

Students attend the screenings of recent films from all around the world and have personal contact with some of their makers. They may also take part in guided visits, in professional conferences and other events of the festival programme.
