Instructors: Rob Rombout, Frederik Nikolai, Judith Vreriks, Tanguy Roosen, Frédérique Westhoff, Erik Lambert
Through interactive lectures by experienced documentary producers, directors and distributors, students acquire:
[a] models of writing for documentary (narration storytelling, documentary scriptwriting, pitching),
[b] a basic knowledge of budgeting, planning, applying for funding, producing,
[c] an awareness of legal questions/issues in documentary (release forms, author's rights, contracts, ownership),
[d] knowledge of different distribution channels.
This learning process aims to provide students with further knowledge and practice of the production of independent documentary films. These skills are acquired in preparation for the Master’s Degree Project (semester 4) but will also be useful in the students’ future careers.
