"Hello Sea!" presented in EDOC Festival, Ecuador.
This year her final DocNomads project "Hello Sea!" made it to the program, showing in Guayaquil and Quito on May 20, 25 and 28.
"I’m thrilled to have my film in Ecuador, surrounded by people that know me and know what I’m doing", said María Grazia who has been living in Denmark after completing the DocNomads program in 2015.
"Hello Sea!" is a film driven by her curiosity to explore the perception of the sea in the landlocked country of Hungary. María Grazia is present in the story, showing her own feelings towards the sea and her concept of home.
"In the film I visit 2 old Hungarian women, one of them grew up by the sea and the other has never seen it. It is the frame of our conversations, we have dialogues about memory, imagination and ultimately about home" explained María Grazia.
This is the second festival participation for María Grazia with films from DocNomads. Her second semester film "Anya" premiered last year at Cinema Vérité Film Festival in Iran.

Synopsis: 'Hello Sea!' is the search for something intangible as well as a personal journey. Driven by the Ecuadorian director’s own relation to the sea, the film explores what the sea means to people in a landlocked country. This meaning is developed through memory, identity and a brief glimpse of history. It is an intimate story, in which the director and the participants connect through their imagination.
