The DocNomads universe of students, alumni and academic staff has a formal platform to connect, create and preserve the legacy of the program beyond the course. DNA, an acronym for the DocNomads Association, became a reality last February 7th in Budapest where the first assembly took place.
Members of the third and fourth generation of DocNomads were summoned to discuss and share the experiences of former students. Nayeem Mahbub, Dorottya Zurbó and Jolanta Wieczorek from the first and second course edition opened the floor by presenting their projects and explaining how the program shaped their professional outcome as novice filmmakers. Questions, suggestions and interesting debates followed, creating the ideal ambience to close the first DNA colloquium.
Small but important compromises were made such as the launching of a quarterly newsletter and the creation of an annual thematic gathering designed to become a think-tank forum for all members alike.
By the end of 2016 close to 130 students from various nations will have been part of this Mobile Filmmaking School, resulting into an important network of filmmakers worldwide with the DocNomads experience that bonds them together. The Association aims to become the future of the program, the moment is now to share all your ideas and suggestions to make it possible at This email address is being protected from spambots.
