Miguel Moraes Cabral is a location sound engineer.
He graduated as sound specialist in 2008, at the National School of Theater and Cinema (ESTC) in Lisbon.
He also studied in Paris, both at the University of Nanterre and at the École Supérieure Louis-Lumière in the framework of an exchange program. He was a scholarship holder of SCAM (Société Civile des Auteurs Multimédias) in 2011, and a filmmaker selected for Berlin Talent Campus in 2009.
He works professionally as a sound recordist and sound editor collaborating with filmmakers in Portugal, Spain, France and Belgium.
In 2010-14 he worked for IndieLisboa (Lisbon's Independent Film Festival) as a programmer for short-films. He was the technical supervisor in the festivals DocLisboa (2010) and IndieLisboa (2010-12), also serving as member of the jury for the international competition of festival Signes de Nuit (Paris, France, 2011).
As a filmmaker he directed the documentary “Jorge's Path” (2013) and the fiction film “The Man of Trás-os-Montes” (2015) that takes place in Northern Portugal. His films have been screened in festivals in Portugal, France, Italy, Belgium, Spain and Poland.
