János Vecsernyés (DLA, associate professor) is the Head of the Cinematographer Master Program of SZFE, and a cinematographer with over 30 years of experience working in feature films, short films, TV-movies, TV-commercials and documentaries.

After having worked as an Assistant Cameraman and Camera Operator for the Hungarian TV, János joined the Hungarian Film School in 1982.

After graduating, János worked on hundreds of productions, some distinguished with awards. Among other, the Prix Europa and the Prix Italia (Gaudiopolis, 1989), and at the Venice Film Festival (Dinner, 2008).

Since 2000 János has been a lecturer at the University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest, in which he completed a DLA in 2015. János is a member of the Hungarian Association of Cinematographers (H.S.C.), in which he served as Member of the Board.
