Oskar Alegría is a filmmaker and professor of documentary scripts in the Masters of Audiovisual Scripts from the University of Navarra.
His first film Emak Bakia baita was screened in 70 festivals and won 17 awards. It is translated into 14 languages, Persian an Albanian among others.
He is the author of a photographic artistic project called "Las ciudades visibles" ("The Visible Cities"), endorsed by the author Enrique Vila-Matas.
In 2015 he compiled and coordinated a collection of films about darkness called The Darkness Collection with other 38 filmmakers of the world.
He has been a jury member in festivals such as San Sebastián, Karlovy Vary, Cinéma du Réel, New Horizons, Dokufest, Visions du Réel.
Currently he’s the Artistic Director of the International Film Festival Punto de Vista in Navarra, Spain.
