Tamás Almási is the DocNomads course director at SZFE Budapest. He holds a DLA, and has many years of experience as a professor (dr, habil). As a film director he directed documentaries and feature films.
His latest film “tititá” won the Sarajevo Film Festival’s Special Jury Prize in 2015. His previous film “Puskás Hungary” won the main prize in Valladolid International Film Festival 2009.
He has made documentaries and fiction films, which have been screened and awarded at a number of highly rated festivals, such as FIPA Biarritz, Karlovy Vary, Cairo International Film Festival, Visions du Réel Nyon, Prix Europa Berlin, Cinema du Réel Paris, Golden Gate San Francisco, Dok-Leipzig. His films have been broadcasted and shown on the big screen in various parts of the world.
He has been awarded the main prize of the Hungarian Film Week six times and the Hungarian Film Critics Award five times. In 2010 he was awarded the Kossuth Prize, the most prestigious award Hungary gives to outstanding artists.
